North Jersey 99 Wins 2007 Pulitzer PrizeApril 18, 2007North Jersey 99, Beverly Weintraub, with her colleagues Arthur Browne and Heidi Evans, won the 2007 Pulitzer Prize for journalism. The Pulitzer Board made the award for distinguished editorial writing in which the test of excellence included "clearness of style, moral purpose, sound reasoning, and power to influence public opinion in what the writer conceives to be the right direction, in print or in print and online." In particular, the board cited Bev and her colleagues for their compassionate and compelling editorials on behalf of Ground Zero workers whose health problems were neglected by the city and the nation.
